Guilt (emotion) is an emotion that occurs when a person believes that they have violated a moral standard that they themselves believe in.

Morality (from the Latin moralitas “manner, character, proper behavior”) is the differentiation of intentions, decisions, and actions between those that are “good” (or right) and those that are “bad” (or wrong).

  1. just found your blog-thank you for sharing! guilt is a funny thing isn’t it? it comes from so many places in our lives, whether by “ethnicity” as in “oh you know how Asian (insert any other ethnicity or religion here” mothers can be” or religion, or be because we are mom’s etc. ironically, I feel no guilt, yes I know that I am cheating, I was the wife in the past (still married to him by the way) and am the other woman. i have guilt that i don’t feel guilt for that aspect. in working with my therapist their take is that i don’t feel guilt because it feels right and true in whatever bubble my lover and i have created in parallel to our real lives. i look forward to following your journey, thanks for sharing.
